who is lukewarm sounds, and what do they do?  lukewarm Sounds is an experimental sound collective based both in the digital spaces & Boston, Massachusetts. We host critical listening sessions, discussions, and in-person events on creative-musicking. We did a variety of listening sessions and workshops with different themes, from Cantonese Pop, Peruvian Experimental Music, Performing Asemic Poems, to Affect & Touch & Sound in Electronic Music.
but what is considered experimental anyway? Contemplating the conceptual boundaries and limitations of experimentalism in certain privileged iterations, lukewarm explores experimentalism otherwise across different junctures, raptures, discontinuities, continuities, and the lineage of experimentalism in diverse practices, notions, places, spaces, and times. Lukewarm listens to and practices experimentalism as remembrance; as survival; as transgression; as social radicalism; as malleable; as deeply connected to our lives; as transformation; as (re)imagination; as the force that dismantles, collaborates, and embraces; as rumination; as movements; as transformative justice; as dances; as ruminating; and as prayers… Experimentalism is and can be regarded as a cacophonous change of question regarding the way we feel/hear/understand ourselves and the world around us, alongside all the changes & long-haul struggles we share with others.
